Step-by-Step Build Guide 🏃♂️
1. Cut Your Wood to Length
Cut your plywood, 2x4s, and 2x2 pieces according to the materials list.
2. Choose Your “Good Side”
Decide which side of the plywood will be the tabletop.
Place the good side face-down for drilling and assembly.
3. Mark Bracket Locations
Measure and mark bracket placement:
- Install the 2x4 brackets about ⅔ of the way down from the center of the plywood on both sides.
4. Drill Pilot Holes
On the bad side, mark your drill points and use a twist bit to make pilot holes.
Remember: pilot holes go from the bad side through to the good side.
5. Countersink the Bolt Holes
Use a countersink bit on the good side so the bolt heads sit flush.
6. Attach the Brackets
Insert the bolts from the good side and fasten the brackets on the bad side using washers and nuts.
7. Install the 2x4 Rails
Slide your 6 ft 2x4s into the mounted brackets.
They should fit snugly with slight wiggle room.
8. Prepare for the 2x2 Supports
On the cut edges of the plywood:
- Drill 3 evenly spaced pilot holes per side (12 total)
- Countersink these holes
These will be used to mount the 12" 2x2 pieces.
9. Attach the 2x2 Blocks
Screw the 2x2 blocks from the good side down into place.
10. Drill for the Lag Bolt Connections
Clamp each pair of 2x2s together.
Use a twist bit to drill a clean hole through both pieces.
11. Add the Lag Bolts
Slide the ¼" × 5" lag bolts through the holes and secure them with washers and wing nuts.
12. Flip & Finish
Turn the table upright and:
- Fill all visible screw/bolt holes with wood filler
- Sand smooth once dry
Optional: paint, stain, or seal the surface.
We recommend sealing it to protect the table from beer and moisture.
All Done! 🥳
You now have a sturdy, collapsible beer die table that sits securely on sawhorses.
